About Me

At Linda's Family Child Care

I am a Married 58-year-old Mother of three children and Grandmother of five.  I began caring for children at a young age, being that I am the second child of ten Siblings and have been caring for neighborhood children since the age of 13.  Currently, I am the Youth Director as well as Youth Sunday School Teacher of a Church that my Husband has pastored for the past 12+ years.

I recognize that decisions about the care of your child are among the most important choices you’ll make during their preschool years. Linda's is more than just a childcare provider.  I offer a fun, caring and inspiring place for your child to grow and learn.

At Linda's  I believe that children are special creations of God, made in His image. Because of this, I value each and every child regardless of their background, behavior, or life situation.

Linda's is a Family Child Care that is formed by a Christian woman who loves children and sees a need in the community for a happy and safe and caring environment. The vision of the founder remains alive at  Linda's which continues to be a warm and caring home away from home for children of all cultural backgrounds and religious faiths.

It is my desire to help every child reach his/her full potential in life by helping the child physically, cognitively, socially, and spiritually.

Thus, I promise to treat children with the dignity and respect they deserve as human beings, help give them the attention, affection, and care they need throughout the day, and work with, teach, and guide each child in a loving fashion.

I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing with excellence, and that there could be no more worthy cause than influencing young children to become the best that they can be. I believe that God expects us to give our very best to the next generation.

Bible stories and songs are an important part of our curriculum, as well as prayer before meals and snacks.  I also observe Holidays from a Christian point of view.

My mission is to nurture the “whole child” in areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development.

This is achieved through providing a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate and recognizes the individual needs and differences of each child.

I am zoned and licensed for business through the City of Roanoke VA;  I also have certification for: Establishing Positive Relationships with Families/Healthy Eaters: Infant and Toddler Nutrition in Child Care Settings/Child Growth and Development from Infancy to School-Age/ Age-Appropriate Physical Activity for Children/Child Abuse and Neglect.
